Project Summary
The general contractor was looking for a concrete grinding in Dallas, TX as they were having issues with concrete spalling and surface delamination as early as 3 days after the pour. After patching and talking with the owner about final expectations, AllStar Concrete Coatings was called in to see if we could help with the surface preparation. The aggregate was extremely brittle in some areas and sound in others, so we decided to bushhammer the entire floor to remove the loose material and get everything to a consistent texture. The floor had to then be ground smooth numerous times and grouted with an epoxy floor coating to fill pinholes and voids throughout before finishing the concrete floor to 60 grit to meet the client’s needs. The area was sealed as a final finish to prevent dusting and help with staining in the future.

Concrete Grinding Dallas – Project Goals & Outcomes
The general contractor contacted AllStar to bushhammer to remove loose material and grind smooth on 41,000 square feet of air-entrained concrete. The concrete floor needed to be sound of all concrete spalling and flaking issues before the building of the structure could continue, and the end product could be tested. The project team was on a tight timeline due to lost time with the failing spalled concrete. We were able to meet their deadline and exceed their expectations.

Not only was the floor consistent with no more spalling, but the owner could also continue building the project with no worries of further issues to delay cost them time and money on this project.
