These are the typical steps for our concrete resurfacing projects:
- Proper concrete surface preparation is critical to ensure long-lasting results. That starts with cleaning the concrete, using a variety of methods, depending on the current condition.
- After all dirt, debris, and loose concrete is removed, our crew will repair cracks, fill holes and address any other surface imperfections with concrete grinders and other specialized equipment so you have a level, even surface to serve as a foundation for your resurfacing materials.
- Then, our trained professionals will profile the surface and apply a primer and granule broadcast to enable optimal adhesion with the resurfacing bond coat.
- The resurfacing process can then begin as a self-leveling concrete resurfacer made of cementitious overlay material or a polymer-based overlay with bonding agents is applied across the surface. Tint can be added to this mixture to obtain a certain color if desired.
- Additional layers of concrete resurfacing can then be added, if desired, for thicker applications.
- A non-slip coating or texture coat can then be added, depending on the project scope.
- Decorative enhancements, coatings, or wall treatments can then be made, including adding color.
- A protective sealer can extend the life of your surface.
- The curing process then begins. We usually recommend keeping equipment, vehicles, and other materials off the surface for at least 48-72 hours.
Our project foreman will serve as your liaison to our team and can answer any questions you may have throughout the process. The foreman will supervise the experienced and trained craftsmen who will be working on the job site and will ensure that all needed equipment and supplies are available to avoid any delays. If necessary, our team can also bring generators if a power supply is not available.
Once work is complete, we will contact you to schedule a walk-through so that we can give you an overview of the work we did and give you guidance about how to best care for and maintain your new surfaces.
